The spatial data service. Maps is the authority for field layout, field width, and markers. It provides the shared visual environment that all members inhabit.

Owns:

• field layout
• field width
• markers
• marker sets

Allowed:

• maps service
• maps objects
• maps authority

Forbidden:

• geography service
• location service
• map (the singular noun; the service is "maps" and the object is "field")
• navigation service

Notes:

• The service is named "maps" (plural). Avoid using "map" as a product noun — the output is a field, not a map.
• World fetches field data from maps and includes it in the runtime contract. Maps does not interact with the web runtime directly.
